Ether smell leads to 3 meth arrests in Kosciusko County

CROMWELL, Ind. — Three people were arrested on Wednesday, November 26, when a methamphetamine lab was found on the east side of Lake Wawasee.

The Kosciusko County Drug Task Force was called to a mobile home on East Chickadee Drive after a tip that the area smelled of ether. Police found a meth lab inside the residence.

James Leo Charters, 38, of Cromwell was arrested and preliminarily charged with dealing methamphetamine, as well as outstanding failure to appear for a felony theft warrant from Elkhart County, and a warrant from Lagrange County for non-payment of child support.

David Jeremiah Graff, 31, of Syracuse was preliminarily charged with dealing methamphetamine, and a failure to appear misdemeanor warrant from Kosciusko County.

Alexis Erin Riley, 24, of Syracuse was preliminarily charged with visiting a common nuisance. She was held on a $350 bond.

State police were called to secure and clean the scene.
