SunnyBrook RV cuts nearly half its workforce

MIDDLEBURY — Another local RV company is cutting workers.

SunnyBrook RV laid off about 120 administration and production personnel — about half their workforce — effective November 30.

The company, which makes towable RVs, blames the credit crunch and bad economy.

About 140 employees remain with the manufacturer.

What a shame, very sorry for everyone who was laid off. I hope you folks receive the help you need and deserve. I do want to put a little jab to Sunnybrook RV's management, their sales would be better if they would stop nickel and diming owners and dealerships over warranty claims. I loved my Sunnybrook but when it was time for a upgrade I was sick of begging for them to cover obvious workmanship issues.

Bert i dont know where you get the information, but a lot of it is incorrect at the least. It's to bad that anyone is allowed to post whatever they want whether it be truthful or not.

First of all, the owner of Sunnybrook doesn't have a lear jet and never has had one. He actually should have had a lay off a month ago, but he has never had to lay off employees before. But when you do not have enough orders to build product, you have to cut your expenses just to survive and he just like everyone else in indiana is in a survival mode. He was one of the last manufacturers to have a lay off, but he will return and be looking to rehire most of his former employees.

the owner of sunny brook had to lay off all these employees monday before thanksgiving because of economic hard times.but i betthis won,t stop him from flying his leer jet back and forth to and from sarasota florida once aweek this winter like he always does and by the way it has been costing him between $10,000 and $14,000 every time.just have to feel sorry for all of hard working laid off employees who will be going hungry this winter.

to 1:19, i agree with the unemployed rv workers looking for jobs in the two new companies starting in middlebury. but do you really think these companies will last. rv's are the last industry i would want to join right now. considering they won't be able to compete with those that are still in and those still in it have money. plus, look at some of the morons they have running these new rv ones. sure to fail eventually.
