(AP) — Northern Indiana's Culver Academies is saddling up its horse troop for President-elect Barack Obama's inauguration parade.

About 80 student riders from the private prep school's Black Horse Troop will take part in the Jan. 20 parade along Pennsylvania Avenue in what will be the troop's 15th inaugural appearance.

The tradition of the horse troop marching in the inaugural parade began in 1913 with President Woodrow Wilson's first inauguration. The Black Horse Troop has appeared in more presidential inaugural parades than any other private or public high school contingent.

Culver Academies chief John Buxton says students at the prep school in Marshall County about 30 miles south of South Bend are thrilled to be able to carry on the tradition.
