SOUTH BEND — Police are investigating their fourth armed home invasion in five days.

A 911 call sent officers to the 1200 block of Blaine Ave. around 11:20 a.m. on Sunday.

There were six or seven people in the Blaine Ave. house, police say, when the suspect allegedly broke in through the front door demanding money and threatening them with a gun.

One man jumped out of a window and found a phone to call 911. Police say that's when the suspect fled.

Officers barricaded streets from the intersection of Portage Ave. and W. Angela Blvd to Portage and Vassar. They also closed many streets to the east and west in an effort to find the suspect.

The reportedly armed suspect was found in the attic of a house on the 1200 block of Portage Ave. A fire truck was called for police to use the ladder in retrieving the man.
