By Beth Boehne

At midnight on February 17, 2009, WSBT, and every full power television station in America, will begin to broadcast programming exclusively in a digital format.

We want to make sure you're ready, so we're going to test our digital signal TONIGHT. At 7:30 p.m. we will stop analog programming for five minutes and run a message on your screen.

If you see this message tonight, you are NOT ready for the digital switch, and need to prepare:

If you are viewing this message, this television set is not ready for digital. To continue to receive your television signals, you can upgrade this TV set to digital with a converter box. The government offers you two $40 coupons toward the cost of converter boxes. For more information you can call 1-888-DTV-2009. You can order your converter box coupons at www.dtv2009.gov. You need to order your coupons immediately.

You can also purchase a new TV set with a digital tuner, or subscribe to a pay service like cable or satellite. If you have questions, call the Federal Communications DTV hotline at: 1-888-225-5322 or visit the FCC’s DTV website at www.DTV.gov.

Watch WSBT TONIGHT at 7:30 p.m. to see if you are ready for the switch to digital television.
