WARSAW — About 2,000 households served by Kosciusko REMC in Kosciusko County remained without power at mid-morning Saturday in the aftermath of Friday’s ice storm.

At least 500 customers have had power restored, according to power company Kosciusko REMC.

Power to all substations has been restored, but there still are numerous lines down in the county, which was hit hard by the storm.

Crews worked throughout the night and two work crews from southern Indiana have arrived to help. Tree-trimming contractors have joined in the effort to help remove downed branches.

Customers who have not yet reported power outages should call the company at (574) 267-6331 or (800) 790-7362.

The public is urged to treat all downed and hanging power lines as live wires. People should stay away from the lines, warn others to stay away and report such lines.

Kosciusko REMC serves more than 17,000 customers in Kosciusko County and surrounding counties.
