Northern Indiana and southwest Michigan are under a winter weather advisory through Wednesday afternoon.

Precipitation was expected to begin as snow in the morning, mixing with sleet in the afternoon and evening.

Roads with be slick and hazardous. The National Weather Service advises that people traveling on Interstate 94 or the Indiana Toll Road exercise extreme caution during this period. Several deaths have occurred over the past few days on these roads.

Several non-injury accidents have occurred already in the morning, on Cleveland Road and in other parts of the South Bend area.
