Forecast: Freezing rain advisory continues; weather conditions hazardous

Freezing rain is expected to continue Friday, possibly mixed with rain by 1 p.m., with widespread fog expected later, according to the National Weather Service.

Light freezing rain will mix at times with sleet.

Accumulations so far are light but are causing extremely slippery roadways.

The Weather Service issued a freezing rain advisory, which is expected to be in place until at least 10 a.m. Friday or until conditions improve.

The forecast for Friday night is for occasional showers and possibly a thunderstorm, with areas of fog. The low will be around 45. Chance of rain is 80 percent.

Showers and thunderstorms will continue Saturday, and some of the storms could produce heavy rain, according to the Weather Service. Saturday’s high will be near 56 degrees. It will be breezy, with a south wind around 25 mph and gusts as high as 35 mph. Between three-quarters and one inch of rain is possible.

Rain will continue Saturday night, likely changing to snow early Sunday. Some thunder also is possible. The low will be around 25.

On Sunday, there is a chance of flurries before 1 p.m. It will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 33. It will be windy, with a west wind between 20 and 30 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph.
