A Plymouth man being held in the Ludowici, Ga., jail on theft charges committed suicide Saturday.

According to a news release from the Plymouth Police Department, Robert W. Saylor, 41, left a note confessing to crimes in Plymouth.

Police said they received the first complaints about Saylor on Nov. 3 when two people said they gave him money to fix their computers but they later heard he had left the area.

Investigators received several other similar complaints during November.

Police found Saylor in Walkerton on Nov. 20 and took him to the Plymouth Police Department, where he escaped.

A warrant was issued charging him with five counts of theft and escape, and he was arrested Dec. 18 in Ludowici.

He was being held there awaiting extradition to Marshall County.
