Argos company has 'can do' attitude for inauguration product

By WSBT 24/7 News

ARGOS — A Marshall County company is taking part in the presidential inauguration next month in Washington. It has designed custom-made products that will sit at the National Mall and along the parade route.

“We've sent them into the Asian market, Russia; the Queen in England has used our porta-potties," said Ron Quimby, production manager of Ameri-Can Engineering Co.

Ameri-Can, in Argos, has been in business for 20 years.

You'll see ours,” said Quimby, “(have) marble countertops, beveled mirrors. All sorts of accent lights, pictures hanging on the walls. Any type of flooring. We offer seven or eight different colors of wood oak trim. We've got a customer on the east coast wanting to put a hot tub in one of them.”

Now the company says it has found a niche in the marketplace for this unique type of product. It can be found all over the United States, as well as all over the world.

Next month, a number of them will be in Washington, D.C. for the presidential inauguration. Portable restrooms, placed on the national mall and parade route that could be used by senators, congressman, and even the president-elect.

“Our trailers have been out on the road for over 20 years,” said Ameri-Can president David Harling.

“And, they've been involved in events around Washington many, many time. So, in a sense, it’s become somewhat expected that our trailers are going to find themselves in high profile applications. It’s an amazing thing to sit back and look at this and think of who is going to be using it.”

Their product has also been used on the sets of several big movie productions, including the James Bond films, and the Harry Potter movies.
