Trailer, equipment missing in reported Elkhart theft

ELKHART — An Elkhart man tells police someone stole a box trailer from his property overnight Friday, and with it about $3,600 in equipment.

Elkhart officers went to the home in the 1900 block of Markle Avenue about 10:45 a.m. Saturday after the owner found the 6-by-12-foot trailer missing.

Missing items in the trailer included a generator, welding torches and horse tack.

The 44-year-old homeowner told police the trailer was valued at $1,800.
