Speedway store robbed in South Bend

SOUTH BEND — Police were looking for a suspect Monday morning after a robbery at a South Bend Speedway convenience store.

City 911 dispatch said they received a call at 6:47 a.m. from the store, located at 1110 E. Ireland Rd. near the intersection with Miami.

According to dispatch, a man jumped over the counter and took cash from the clerk before fleeing on foot.

The suspect was described as a black male, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and jeans. He did not display a weapon during the robbery.

There were no reported injuries.
