South Bend firefighters keep fire in dryer

SOUTH BEND — Firefighters were called to a house in the 600 block of North Preston Drive at 5 p.m. Monday.

A clothes dryer caught fire, according to a South Bend Fire Department report, which caused moderate smoke to waft through the house. Flames were contained to the dryer in a utility room.

No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $300.
