UPDATE: Douglas Road re-opens between Capital Avenue and Fir Road

St. Joseph County Police have re-opened Douglas Road between Capital Avenue and Fir Road.

A single-vehicle accident in which a gas utility was struck, forced that stretch of Douglas Road to be closed between 7 and 8 a.m. Thursday, according to St. Joseph County Police.

NIPSCO has shut-off the main gas line in the area. No residents were evacuated, according to police, and no one was injured in the accident.
