Beginning of dangerous cold, wind, snow is hours awayby Rick Mecklenburg (rick@wsbt.com)
Another round of snow and bitterly cold temperatures is moving into Michiana. (WSBT photo) Only light snow is on the way Sunday night, but a major winter storm appears to be heading in Monday evening. The entire area is under a winter storm watch from Monday evening through Tuesday evening. Snow will develop late in the day Monday and become heavy Monday night. The accumulation appears to be in the 4-inch to 6-inch range. However, winds will increase late Monday night and Tuesday, creating some huge problems with blowing and drifting of snow. White-out conditions are likely. There is another chance of heavy snow Wednesday night. In addition to the snow and wind, brutally cold temperatures are on the way this week. Morning temperatures Tuesday near 20 will plummet into the single digits throughout the day. It appears several nights of subzero temperatures are coming, starting Tuesday night. Temperatures may get as cold as minus 15. Most PopularMore Good Stuff |
