MIDDLEBURY — Patriot Homes has announced it will be closing its operations in Middlebury, affecting 125 workers.

The closure is scheduled to begin January 23, according to a notice filed with the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.

Patriot Homes, which makes manufactured and systems-built modular housing, filed for bankruptcy in September 2008, but said at the time it planned to continue its operations as usual at its plants in Indiana, Texas and Alabama.

The company employs more than 500 people overall.
