LEESBURG — Snow-covered roads are being blamed for a 2-vehicle crash on State Road 15 in Kosciusko County Wednesday morning that seriously injured one woman.

Investigators determined 25-year-old Desiree Hall of Warsaw was driving south on S.R. 15, just south of Leesburg, when she lost control on the snow-covered roadway. Her Chrysler 300 slid sideways, crossing the center line into the path of a northbound Chevy Tahoe driven by 50-year-old Joe Leek of Warsaw.

The passenger side of Hall’s car struck a snow plow on the front of Leek’s vehicle.

Arriving officers found Hall pinned in the vehicle. She was extricated by the Leesburg Fire Department and taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital. She was then transferred to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, where she is listed in serious but stable condition with internal injuries.

Leek was treated at the scene by Multi Township EMS.

The Kosciusko County FACT Team continues to investigate.
