A Warsaw man told Elkhart County police he swerved to avoid a raccoon crossing the road. Doing so caused the vehicle Walter LaRue was driving to go off County Road 43 and rollover.

The accident happened just before 1 p.m. Wednesday near U.S. 6 in Millersburg. LaRue, 45, told police he had rib pain, but he was not taken to a hospital from the scene.
