A Plymouth man driving a semi-truck escaped serious injury Saturday after a fiery crash along U.S. 30 in Whitley County.

Authorities say Randall Shelley, 38, was driving eastbound and approaching the intersection at County Road 300 East when he hit the van, driven by Troy Bridegan, 30, of Albion, Ind., from behind.

The impact pushed the van more than 200 feet through the intersection, and both vehicles caught fire.

Shelley was able to escape from the truck and was not injured.

Bridegan was taken to Parkview Hospital, where he was still listed in critical condition early Monday, the nursing staff tells SBT24/7 News.

No charges were filed as a result of the crash.

Elsewhere, two men were taken to the hospital after a LaGrange County rollover Saturday.

The Sheriff's Department said Florentino Ontiveros, 31, of LaGrange, was driving east on County Road 100 North in Clay Twp. when he missed a curve and left the roadway before rolling over.

Ontiveros and his passenger, Salvador Sanchez, 18, also of LaGrange, were taken to Parkview Hospital in LaGrange for non-life-threatening injuries.

They were treated and released. Ontiveros faces charges of operating while intoxicated, authorities said in a press release.
