INDY---South Bend Washington and Ben Davis have been on a "collision course" all season long. Two of the better teams in the country, much less the state of Indiana, are playing in the 4-A basketball state finals. WSBT Sports is courtside and has your in-game updates. Be sure to watch WSBT at 11 for the post-game report.

Skylar Diggins carried the Panthers back into the game thanks in part to a phenomenal effort from the foul line. A 9-0 run from the Panthers tied the game at 69, only to finish with a heartbreaking 71-69 loss in the final seconds of the game. After the game, Diggins was awarded the Mental Attitude award for her performace on the court and in the classroom. Though it may be bittersweet right now--much congratulations to the Lady Pantehrs on a truly incredible season.

65-61 2:02

Panthers are storming back now down just four.
----------
End of 3rd Q.
54-44 Ben Davis

Without Bentley who is sitting in foul trouble, Ben Davis answers Washington's challenge with some big shots including a couple of 3's from the sharpshooting Emily Huber. Ben Davis goes about 8-deep and it's starting to wear down Washington as we head to the decisive quarter. At this point, the Giants are clearly the better team, but that doesn't mean they'll win the game.

3rd Q.
38-34 Ben Davis

Little by little, Washington is clawing their way back into the game. Diggins has scored six points, and the senior is even imploring the crowd to get into the game more. Diggins now has 15 points with Watson now at eight points after sinking two free-throws.

It's "game-on" again in this clash of the titans!
-----------
End of 1st Half
35-25 Ben Davis

The Panthers couldn't mount any kind of a scoring run to close out the first 16 minutes. Everything seems to be a struggle for Washington, and the turnovers continue to add up. In a match-up of superstars, Alex Bentley has 14 points on some efficient shooting, while Skylar Diggins has nine points and has struggled from the field.

2nd Q. 3:40
31-21 Ben Davis

The tides have turned at Lucas Oil. Ben Davis is forcing turnovers and keeping Washington out of offensive sync. Bentley drilled another mid-range shot and leads all scorers with 12 points. The Giants are also gettng every loose ball and doing all the "little things". We'll see how the Panthers act down 10 points, something they're clearly not used to.

----------
Start of 2nd Q.
16-15 Washington

Jasmine Watson closes out a strong 1st quarter nailing a pull-up jumper. Watson scored six in the opening stanza.
Alex Bentley hit a jumper as for a second the teams went back and forth looking like two of the better teams in the country.
-----------
1st Q. 2:22
12-7 Washington

Skylar Diggins got open and shot a 3, it rolled up and down and in. Karis Phillips followed that with a strong drive. Panthers have a bit of momentum, but it's still early.

1st Q. 3:19
7-7

Washington raced out to a 5-1 lead with Skylar Diggins not even taking a shot. Karis Phillips walked it down on the Panthers first possession and swished home a 3.

Ben Davis has since tied the game behind 5 points from their star, Alex Bentley.

tip-off in appx. 20 minutes

---------
It appears unlike last week, Skylar Diggins has packed her shoes and won't have any pre-game distractions.

Lucas Oil Stadium is enormous and will challenge the players with a very "airy" atmosphere when it comes to shooting the basketball. Think "playing outdoors" as a good comparison to what it's like playing hoops inside a large football stadium.
