Fire officials cite “accidental use of a flammable liquid near a heat source” as the cause of a Tuesday morning house fire in Granger.

Firefighters were called to a two-story house in the 56000 block of Villager Parkway at 11:20 a.m. Once there, firefighters found heavy smoke coming from the first floor and within 10 minutes, controlled the fire and contained it to one room.

An occupant in the house at the time of the fire escaped without injury, according to a fire department report. Approximate damage is listed at $45,000.
