Family of four escape Paw Paw house fire

Michigan State Police say the Thomas Juriga family were asleep early Thursday morning when fire broke out in their house in Paw Paw.

The family of four, Thomas and Dawn Juriga and their two children, ages 2 and 4, escaped with minor burns and smoke inhalation, according to police. They were treated at Lakeview Bronson Hospital in Paw Paw.

The house is deemed a total loss, according to police, and the Michigan State Police Fire Investigation Unit continues looking into the fire’s cause.
