A turkey flew into a semi-truck windshield near Michigan City Monday morning, shattering the glass and leaving the truck passenger with minor cuts and injuries.

The Indiana State Police said the accident happened along the Toll Road about 7:45 a.m. EDT.

The truck driver was headed eastbound near mile marker 38 when the turkey crashed into the glass and quickly pulled over.

It was the second such turkey-truck crash in as many months, ISP said. The previous incident happened about five miles from Monday's accident.

The passenger refused treatment for injuries at the scene, ISP said.

The turkey didn't fare as well and died as a result of the impact.
