Kroger robber took U-scan cash

SOUTH BEND — A grocery store employee had just finished removing cash from a U-scan machine when a man grabbed the money and ran out of the store, according to police.

The incident happened about 11 p.m. Wednesday at Kroger, 4524 Western Ave., South Bend Police Lt. Cindy Kilgore said.

The man was wearing a brown hoodie and slippers, she said. No one was injured, and the amount of cash taken was unknown.
