Two township departments fight Niles house fire

Firefighters from Howard and Bertrand townships are still on the scene of a Niles house fire, as of 6:15 a.m. Saturday. The fire was reported about 4:20 a.m.

No injuries have been reported, according to Cass County emergency dispatch.

Though the house, in the 2200 block of Lake Street, has a Niles address in Berrien County, Howard Township Fire Department — dispatched by Cass County — covers the area on the Berrien-Cass county line.
