Web cameras show I-80/94 traffic flow

Want to save time before you hit the road? You may want to visit the Indiana Department of Transportation Web site, especially if you are traveling on I-80/94 or I-65 in Lake County.

INDOT’s Jay Wasson announced Monday there are now 21 cameras showing real-time pictures of traffic on Lake County interstates.

INDOT urges motorists in Lake County to log on to http://pws.indot.org/ipws/nw to see the latest traffic conditions. A link is also available to the live cameras from the Borman Expressway Web site at www.borman.in.gov.

Traffic speeds are shown in color-coded graphics. And lane restrictions show up as a flashing icon on the map. In addition, there is a pop-up box with more detailed information on the restrictions.
