Police bust alleged meth house in Osceola

By WSBT 24/7 News

Police say Thursday night they discovered a suspected meth lab in the 300 block of East Louis Street in Osceola.

Acting on a Crime Stoppers tip reporting that methamphetamines were being made and sold at the home, according to police, St. Joseph County Police Detective Eric Kaser arrived there to find four adults and a 4-year-old child inside, police said. The adults said they were just visiting.

The homeowner and suspect, a 38-year-old woman, wasn’t home at the time. Kaser called her on her cell phone and she agreed to come home, but never did, police said.

Kaser obtained a search warrant from a judge and police searched the home at about 6:30 p.m. Police found several items throughout the home that indicated the presence of meth.

The Indiana State Police Meth Suppression Unit and Osceola police responded to the scene and worked into the early morning hours, collecting evidence. There were small bags of substances that tested positive for meth, according to police.

Police continue the investigation and will forward the case to prosecutors for review and formal charges against the homeowner.
