Update: Six flown to hospital after Marshall County crash

Six airlifted from Marshall County crash

By WSBT 24/7 News

Authorities say six people were airlifted to the hospital after an accident in Marshall County Tuesday evening.

The crash happened about 5 p.m. at Queen and Seventh roads. Police say a car ran a stop sign and hit a truck, causing the truck to hit a utility pole.

Three people in the car were ejected, while a fourth was trapped inside and had to be extricated.

The passenger of the truck was also trapped inside, and the driver couldn't get out because of his injuries.

The four people in the car were flown to Memorial Hospital in South Bend, while two people in the truck were flown to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.

All four people treated at Memorial Hospital are men, according to nursing staff there. Two were in critical condition in the ICU, and two were in fair condition early Wednesday.

There was no word on the conditions of those taken to Fort Wayne.
