UPDATE: Explosion, fire reported in Van Buren County

VAN BUREN COUNTY — Authorities say there were no injuries Wednesday morning when a home was destroyed by flames.

The fire was reported just after 4 a.m. in the 16500 block of 49th Street, county emergency dispatch said.

That’s northeast of Breedsville in the north-central part of the county.

A neighbor across the street reported hearing a loud explosion, then saw the house and garage on fire.

Authorities say the structures is a total loss.

Firefighters from several departments were called to assist the Columbia Township Fire Department.
