UPDATE: Two people from Marshall County accident in critical condition

Six airlifted from Marshall County crash

By WSBT News1

Two of six people injured in a two-vehicle accident Tuesday at Queen and Seventh roads in Marshall County, are in critical condition at Memorial Hospital of South Bend.

Four people were in a car — Jared Seese, 18, of Hamlet; James Bellerose II, 21 of Walkerton; Kevin Henderson, 18 of Grovertown; and James Bailey, 20, of Plymouth.

At noon Wednesday, Seese and Henderson are listed in critical condition at Memorial Hospital, according to a nursing supervisor. Bellerose and Bailey are listed in stable condition at Memorial.

The two occupants in a truck — Steve Masterson, 52, and Kisha Beerwart, 31, both of Plymouth — are listed in serious condition at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, according to a nursing supervisor there.

Authorities say all six people were airlifted to the hospitals after the 5 p.m. accident that happened when the car ran a stop sign and hit the truck, causing the truck to hit a utility pole. Three people in the car were ejected, while a fourth was trapped inside and had to be extricated.

The passenger in the truck was also trapped inside, and the driver couldn't get out because of his injuries.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department is still investigating the accident and has not released yet any further details.
