2 injured after LaPorte County crash lands vehicle in water

An accident that left a vehicle partially submerged in water injured two people in LaPorte County early Sunday.

Authorities say the crash happened about 12:20 a.m. CST along Indiana 8, just west of Indiana 39, southwest of Brems and along the border with Starke County toward LaCrosse, Ind.

The vehicle left the roadway near a bridge, crashed and ended up partly underwater.

Two people were taken to the hospital after the accident, LaPorte County dispatch said.

There was no immediate word on the severity of their injuries.
