Body found in river in St. Joseph, Mich.

ST. JOSEPH, Mich. — Police are investigating after a body was found floating in the St. Joseph River in St. Joseph, Mich. Friday morning.

Just before 8 a.m., the U.S. Coast Guard told the St. Joseph Police Department they had received reports of a body floating near the CSX swing bridge.

The body was removed from the river and taken to Lakeland Hospital for an autopsy.

The body appears to be male and has been in the river for at least several days, according to St. Joseph Police.
