South Haven man dies in motorcycle crash

A 64-year-old South Haven man, Charles Winford Hinton, died when he crashed his Yamaha motorcycle at 3 a.m. Saturday on 46th Street near County Road 384 in Van Buren County.

The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department is reporting alcohol and excessive speed likely contributed to Hinton to losing control of his motorcycle on a sharp curve and running off the road.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
