SOUTH BEND — A 41-year-old man who authorities say beat another man to death with a cinder block pleaded guilty Wednesday to voluntary manslaughter.

Dewange Dotson, of South Bend, entered into a plea agreement with the state, pleading guilty to the Class A felony, while the state agreed to drop a count of murder.

Dotson killed 48-year-old Larry Leonard in August 2008 during a feud related to a woman, according to past reports. Leonard died from internal bleeding caused by "multiple blunt force trauma to the torso."

Dotson faces a recommended 50 years in prison, with 10 years suspended.

A sentencing hearing for Dotson will be at 8 a.m. July 2.
