An anonymous tip Wednesday afternoon led Elkhart Police to a backpack meth lab left in a city park.

The Indiana State Police Methamphetamine Suppression Team was called to Riverview Park at the Superior Street/Riverview Avenue intersection at 1:30 p.m. to remove the lab.

Elkhart Parks & Recreation Department terms Riverview Park a “featured destinations” park that provides ball diamonds and tennis and basketball courts.

Police ask anyone with information about the backpack to call Elkhart Police Sgt. James Ballard, Street Crime Unit, at (574) 295-7070, Ext. 427.
