Multi-state drug investigation nets Elkhart County arrests

Elkhart County’s I.C.E. Unit arrested two men this week they believe are part of a major cocaine distribution network tied to Mexico.

More arrests are expected, according to the Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office.

Arrested from the 11-month, multi-state investigation were Oscar Lopez, 28, of Goshen, and Jaime Diaz-Rangel, age 28, formerly of Warsaw.

Diaz-Rangel was arrested in Porter County and is being held in the Elkhart County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bond. Bond for Lopez was set during Thursday’s court hearing at $1 million.
