By WSBT 24/7 News

A Mishawaka woman lost control of her motorcycle Sunday afternoon as she swerved to avoid, but could not miss, striking the back of a horse-drawn buggy.

Jennifer Myers, 32, was flown from the accident scene to Memorial Hospital, according to the Marshall County Sheriff's Department. She is listed in critical condition, according to a hospital nursing supervisor.

The accident happened at 1:22 p.m. in the 4400 block of Beech Road, near 4B Road.

Neither the buggy's driver, John Henry Borkholder, 66, of Nappanee, nor the horse were injured in the collision, according to police.
