Police have identified the victims of a stabbing and shooting in Starke County Sunday afternoon.

Authorities say the stabbing victim, 54-year-old Mary Wireman of North Judson, was killed about 2:40 p.m. at a North Judson address. A second person, 36-year-old Jeremy Risner of Knox, was shot at an address in Knox.

Risner was flown to South Bend Memorial Hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.

The suspect, 56-year-old Ernest Wireman of Rensselaer, has turned himself in and is in custody, the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

Sheriff Oscar Cowen tells WSBT-TV the murder and second shooting attempt are related to a domestic dispute.
