SOUTH BEND — Police arrested two men and found more than $200,000 in cash after local and state officers raided a suspected drug operation on the city’s south side.

Indiana State Police, working with officers from South Bend and Elkhart County, raided the home in the 1100 block of East Donald Street about 8 p.m. Monday, according to state police spokesman Sgt. Trent Smith.

Inside the home police say they found cash in boxes and shirt pockets. Police also seized powder cocaine and two vehicles.

Two men, ages 25 and 30, were arrested inside the home. A woman and two young children were also found by police, but were released. Neither man has been formally charged with a crime.

Smith said police in Elkhart began an investigation that led officers to the South Bend home.

Police say the 30-year-old is the home’s primary resident; he was arrested and taken to the Elkhart County jail, accused of conspiracy, racketeering and drug dealing. The 25-year-old is accused of visiting a common nuisance.
