SOUTH BEND — A motorcyclist has died from head injuries after losing control of her motorcycle Sunday afternoon in the 4400 block of Beech Road, near 4B Road.

The accident occurred when Jennifer Myers, 32, of Mishawaka, swerved to avoid striking the back of a horse-drawn buggy in Marshall County, authorities said.

Myers was flown from the accident scene to Memorial Hospital, according to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.

She was pronounced dead Tuesday morning after suffering head injuries, according to St. Joseph County deputy coroner Chuck Hurley.

Neither the buggy’s driver, John Henry Borkholder, 66, of Nappanee, nor the horse was injured, according to police.

Myers was the youngest member of the ladies motorcycle group, Sisters in the Wind.
