SOUTH BEND — A trial date has been set for a 75-year-old man accused of exposing himself to a 3-year-old girl earlier this month.

Larry Hostetler appeared in court Friday, where his trial was scheduled for Oct. 1. His plea deadline was set for August 17.

Hostetler has been charged with performing sexual conduct in the presence of a minor, a Class D felony, and public indecency, a Class A misdemeanor. Police say he exposed himself to the child while at the Kmart store on McKinley Avenue in Mishawaka.

Hostetler’s bond was previously raised to $5,000 because he is a convicted sex offender. The 75-year-old told the judge today that he could not afford to pay the bond.
