One hospitalized after serious South Bend motorcycle crash

A motorcycle accident late Sunday sent one man to a South Bend hospital, city 911 dispatch said.

The crash between the cyclist and a second vehicle happened just before midnight at the intersection of Dunham and Liberty streets.

That's in the neighborhood west of Olive Street on the south side of Western Avenue.

There was no immediate word on the man's condition as he was treated at Memorial Hospital.

However, St. Joseph County officials say a fatal alcohol crash team (FACT) unit was notified and sent to reconstruct and investigate the cause of the crash.
