INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Workforce Development is extending the filing deadline until 6 p.m. Monday for claimants to receive their benefit Tuesday.

If you file after 6 p.m. Monday, you will receive your benefit on Wednesday. Normally, claimants can file until 3 p.m. to receive their benefit the next business day.

The deadline is being extended because a network hardware malfunction disrupted access to the unemployment filing system — Uplink — from approximately 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Monday.

A similar problem occurred Sunday. Communications Director Marc Lotter said the page used to file for unemployment benefits was down from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday. The department extended the unemployment benefit deadline an extra two hours, until 7 p.m.

If you filed after that time Sunday, you will not receive your benefits until Tuesday.

“The Department of Workforce Development and Indiana Office of Technology apologize for any inconvenience this service disruption has caused our claimants,” said Communications Director Marc Lotter. “An examination of the claims data for the week indicates that nearly everyone who traditionally files on Sunday and Monday has filed this week.”
