Suspect arraigned on murder charge in Courtney Rowell's death

SOUTH BEND — A 29-year-old man, accused along with his younger brother in the murder of another man, was arraigned in court Wednesday.

Henry Bonds and his brother, Tevin Reaves, are charged with one count each of murder, conspiracy to commit murder and felony murder; and two counts each of attempted robbery.

The victim in the crime, Courtney Rowell, 33, of South Bend, was shot multiple times last month while entering his apartment in the 1000 block of Lincoln Way West. He later died of his injuries.

Bonds' initial hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. July 15.
