ST. JOSEPH, Mich. — Police arrested a man suspected of robbing the Horizon Bank on Ship Street in St. Joseph Thursday afternoon.

Police say a white male gave the teller a note demanding money and threatening that he was armed, just after 2 p.m.

Arriving officers radioed a physical description of the suspect to area police units, and a man matching the description was spotted at Wolcott and Niles Avenue. Officers patted the man down and found money on him.

The suspect was returned to Horizon Bank, where he was identified as the robber.

He is being held at the Berrien County Sheriff's Department pending charges from the prosecutor's office.

Police have not released the identity of the man arrested.
