A Goshen teen was cited for failure to yield the right of way at an intersection late Sunday morning after a two-car collision at County Road 3 and County Road 36 in Elkhart County.

The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department is reporting the teen’s vehicle collided with a vehicle being driven north on County Road 3 by Karen Myers, 67, of Elkhart. The collision forced Myers’ vehicle into a utility pole.

She and her three passengers — Donald Lienhart, 66; Saundra Lienhart, 65; and Helen Lechlitner, 87, all of Goshen — were taken to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, according to the report.

A hospital nursing supervisor told SB24/7News the four were treated and later released.

The teen, 16-year-old Trenton Jacobs of Goshen who was driving west on County Road 36, told police he believed the intersection had a four-way stop. Police said the intersection has a two-way stop for east/west traffic.
