A store’s security alarm first alerted Elkhart Police that Bender’s Corner Store had been broken into early Thursday.

Then as police were going to the store at 52019 County Road 5 just before 3 a.m., a person near the business called 911 to say they’d just seen someone running from the area.

Soon after, police found and arrested the suspect, according to an emergency services dispatch supervisor.
