UNION — Three people were injured, none of them seriously, in a two-car accident Wednesday at Five Points Road and Old Michigan 205, west of Union.

Deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Department said today Autumn Wimmer, 20, of Edwardsburg, was driving north on Five Points about 5:50 p.m. and had initially stopped at Old M-205 before pulling out in front of a westbound auto driven by Kristine Hayden, 34, of Three Rivers.

Wimmer and a passenger, Haden Blyly, 4, were taken to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, police said. A second passenger, Peyton Moore, two months old, was uninjured, officers reported.

Also taken to Elkhart General for treatment of apparently minor injuries was a passenger in the Hayden auto, Nichole Niece, 28. Isaiah Hayden, 5, and Sarah Hayden, 7, were not injured, police said.

Officers said seat belts and child restraints were in use in both vehicles. Alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the accident, police said.
