3 injured in Marshall County crash

By WSBT News1

BREMEN — A car accident sent three people to the hospital Saturday night.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department said shortly after 11 p.m. two vehicles collided where Kenilworth Road meets U.S. 6, just west of Bremen.

Police say John E. Balentine, 21, of Mishawaka disregarded a stop sign and drove his car into the path of a vehicle traveling eastbound on U.S. 6.

The eastbound vehicle was driven by Andrea E. Gilmer, 58, of LaPaz.

The occupants of both vehicles were transported to Memorial Hospital. Balentine suffered possible head injuries, say police. Gilmer and Balentine’s passenger, 22-year-old Tawaninia L. Zirnheld, had minor unknown injuries.

Police say alcohol is believed to be a factor. The investigation is ongoing.
