WARSAW — A Pierceton woman is in critical condition after a single-vehicle crash south of Warsaw Saturday evening.

Investigators say 45-year-old Becky Kern was driving northbound on State Road 15 when she crossed the center line, drove off the road and into a tree just north of Southwood Drive.

Officers arrived and found Kern trapped in her vehicle. She was extricated and then airlifted to a Ft. Wayne hospital where she is in critical condition with head and internal injuries.

Prior to the crash, another driver called 911 to report Kern as a possible impaired driver, according to Kosciusko County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team investigators.

Kern was not believed to be wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The accident remains under investigation.
